About Us
The cicada, this wonderful insect that one hears so often in the mediterranean countries and that is so difficult to observe really fascinated us by his wonderful "song".
The Provencal tradition portays the Cicada as the bearer of good fortune and its "singing", actually a kind of stridulation, has inspired poets and authors alike.
This is especially the charm of this "song" that kept our attention. It arrives often that our thoughts fly away themselves in Provence while we hear the héphémère "song" of our Canadian cicadas.
Cigale et compagnie
To illustrate our interest to the Provence and the mediterranean countries, we chose the name "cigale" (Cicada) to identify our family owned shop. As our intention is to share our discoveries linked to Provence but also to other countries we like, we grouped them all under the vocable "et compagnie" (and company).
